Ice cream crepes are definitely an acceptable lunch, right?
They are at Mackie's 19.2! Throughout Aberdeen restaurant week you can enjoy any 2 crepes, with 2 hot drinks for just £10 - an absolute steal!
Opening in Aberdeen's Marischal Square less than a year ago, the ice cream parlour has gone down a storm. Somehow I hadn't had the chance to pop in until now, but it's safe to say this won't be my last visit!
We started by ordering our drinks whilst browsing the menu - one latte and a green tea...
You can choose your crepe from the Berrylicious, Rainbow Dash, Cookie Dough Delight or Raspberry Eton Mess on the menu, or do what we did and build your own. Pick any ice cream, two toppings and a sauce and you're good to go.
It was a tough decision with so many deliciously tempting ice creams available, but in the end I skipped the gin and tonic sorbet for the more unique Buttery and Jam ice cream. Yes, it really does have actual chunks of buttery through it! (If you call it a rowie, you're wrong...)
My friend opted for cookie dough ice cream with Oreo pieces and white chocolate, while I went for strawberries and honeycomb on top. Of course the sauce is simple - you have to try the new hot white chocolate tap!
The hot chocolate sauce hardens underneath the ice cream which was a nice little surprise. No word of a lie, our crepes were absolutely delicious and we left with full and happy bellies.
If you have a sweet tooth like me, grab your bestie and get to Mackie's 19.2 during restaurant week - it's a fiver each, how could you not?!
